Over the past two years, Hanover County GIS started putting measures in place to be more proactive than reactive with our GIS workflows and procedures. During the site plan review phase, we’ve started providing detailed feedback on site plans, subdivision plats, and initiated early planned addressing on commercial properties. Our department has also increased our communication with the Commissioner of Revenue, Planning, and Building Inspection departments to streamline operations and create a better understand of interdependencies between GIS and other applications and departments. This presentation will elaborate on the tangible metrics that result from our new and increased communication, collaboration, and proactiveness with commercial mapping sites, federal and private mail services, citizens, and internal departments.
